In August 2003 the Finatrade Foundation was founded by the Finatrade group of companies as a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting socio-economic development, and helping to reduce rural poverty, in West Africa. Its core activities are currently centered around education, agriculture and humanitarian initiatives.
In honour of the Foundation’s 10 year commitment to exemplary corporate social responsibility, Finatrade staff were invited to donate a day of their salary towards the Foundation’s anniversary celebrations. The response was overwhelmingly generous with some staff donating up to six days of their salary to the Foundation. A total of Ghc42,975.42 was raised.
Some of these funds have already been used to support worthy educational and humanitarian causes in the name of the Foundation. You can read about these in this edition of the Filla. The remainder of the funds will be used to support similar activities over the coming months, and leading up to Christmas.
Thank you to each of the Finatrade staff who so kindly donated to the Foundation’s anniversary activities. Your donations are allowing Finatrade, through the Foundation, to give back to the communities in which we work, and help them to build a better future for themselves. The Foundation also wishes to thank all the Finatrade subsidiary companies that continue to honour their commitment to support the Foundation’s regular annual activities.
